Aquarists Society is a small friendly club; we meet on the Second Monday every
month at 8pm. for details phone 01274 531418
the moment there are fifteen members who attend each meeting where we have either
a film show or a lecture and where any problems can be discussed. Many's the times
other problems like gardening also get an airing, whose tomatoes are ripening
and whose are not! And lots of ideas of how to rid your garden of slugs are just
some of the subjects. Get Harold on to live foods and you have a discussion there
forever, Ken on to Angels and again talk for hours, Anne on to discus, Graham
on to fish houses, George well he'll always come up with something for you to
natter about be it his famous quizzes or a video, and the rest of the gang.
the past we have gone to other clubs for inter society shows but these days not
many of us show fish due to other commitments. Some of us usually try to go to
other societies' Open Shows where we enjoy the auction and having a chat with
friends. We have also exhibited at the Yorkshire Aquarist Festival held each year
at Doncaster Race course. We have won first place twice with our tableaux and
second once. This was a very enjoyable experience- tiring but enjoyable.
